Chapter Philanthropy

As individuals with time, talents, and treasures, Kappas first support our sisters; second, we participate in local service projects; and third, we serve the greater good.

Our chapter chooses to support the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) under the broader umbrella of mental health and well-being advocacy.

National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA), our official philanthropic partner, has been supported through raising awareness for the cause during Mental Health Awareness Week and the donation of money from various fundraisers that our chapter holds throughout the year, including Tie Dye and Blue Sky in the fall.

Our chapter has also partnered with Delta Upsilon Kappa chapter at University of Georgia to raise participation in their fundraiser, 5K for Kappie. The proceeds from this event benefit CURE Childhood Cancer, a nonprofit organization whose mission is dedicated to conquering childhood cancer through funding targeted research while supporting patient and their families devastated by a childhood cancer diagnosis.

Finally, we hold our annual philanthropy event, A Concert For Kelsey, each spring in honor of Kelsey Durkin, a member of our chapter who tragically passed away in 2013. The concert supports the Kelsey Durkin Memorial Fund.
